The NT Government has awarded $140,000 to boost the aged care workforce in the Territory.
Consulting firm Crest NT will work in partnership with the aged care sector to try to attract and retain 85 workers age 55 and up.
The money will go towards a targeted marketing campaign, a new platform to job-match mature aged workers, and employer support via forums and one-on-one guidance.
According to Chief Minister Natasha Fyles (pictured), the funding is part of a broader effort to increase the Territory’s workforce.
“To achieve a $40 billion economy by 2030 the Northern Territory needs to grow our workforce, and the Flexible Workforce Solutions Fund is designed to do just that.
“Aged care is a vital sector to our community, and this grant will go a long way in attracting more workers to support the sector and our senior Territorians,” she said.
