The St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland agency has marked the opening of Stage 3 of its retirement village in Kawungan, a suburb of Hervey Bay, 286km north of Brisbane, describing the milestone as “showcasing more than just new homes; it highlighted a vision for integrated living where independence, support, and community are seamlessly connected.”
The evening event brought together leaders from Retirement Living by Ozcare, alongside senior teams from Ozcare’s Hervey Bay aged care facility and Fraser Coast community care service.
“This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to creating innovative pathways for older Queenslanders to thrive, with services that adapt to changing needs across the continuum of care,” Ozcare said.
Enrich Architecture designed the project, with Woollam Constructions as the builder.
Stage 3 adds 23 new independent living units across two levels, offering one-, two-, and two-bedroom plus study layouts. Earlier stages sold out quickly with Stage 1 (15 villas) and Stage 2 (22 villas).
Construction has already commenced on Stage 4, which will include 18 villas, a Men’s Shed, and the completion of the Community Centre.
