27 year old charged with two care resident murders

Gary Davis, a 27 year old nurse who had worked at a Wallsend age care facility for two years has been charged with the murder of two elderly residents and attempted murder of a third resident. The deaths occurred in October 2013 but Davis was arrested just before Christmas.

It is alleged that he injected each of the two women and one man with high doses of insulin despite them not being diabetic. All were injected during normal daylight hours. Police stated they had reviewed large quantities of CCTV footage, medical records and hundreds of interviews to arrive at the arrest.

No motive has been given.
