The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) has revealed that in 2008-09 there were 3.4 million people living in Australia over the age of 45 years. Of that group 38% indicated that they didnt know how old they would be when they retire and for those that did know, 46% intended to retire in the age range of 65-69 years.

The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing will convene online workshops with Support at Home providers to help design a pooled funding trial, slated for 2026, backed by $5.2 million in funding over three years announced by the Federal Government in December 2024.
