ACH CEO Mike Rungie predicts their ViTA aged care model will change the sector

After eight years development, including a thorough review of international models, ECH has opened its $46 million, 120 place teaching and research facility branded ViTA.

A progressive partnership between ACH Group, SA Health and Flinders University, ViTA aims to combine best practice approaches to health and aged care with a focus on teaching and research. They will offer long term, short term, transitional care and rehabilitation places.

Co-located with the Repatriation General Hospital, ViTA will access the latest technology and clinical and social practices.

Rungie has stated “ViTA will change the way aged care is delivered and how staff are attracted to and trained in the sector. There will be a swathe of ViTAs in the next 5 to 10 years as the model will be there to be picked up. There will be a national ViTA movement to share practices and learning”.
