Aged care plan for former Mullumbimby (NSW) hospital site – available from state government for $1

The NSW Government offered to sell the 13-acre Mullumbimby Hospital to Byron Bay Shire Council for $1 – plus the cost of remediating the site – in May last year.

Now a survey of 200 locals has shown the majority of residents want the site to be used for aged care accommodation, with three proposals made including seniors’ living.

Catholic Healthcare is reportedly one of the applicants as it looks to expand its nearby Coolamon aged care facility, but the local paper says the Not For Profit would not confirm it had made a proposal.
