Big mixed-used development including retirement village get go-ahead in Brisbane

High-end private property developer Traders in Purple has been given the green light for its Wilshire Village project, first flagged by us here in January, which will see a retirement village, residential apartment building, child care centre and a disability respite care centre built over two buildings in Mitchelton, 8km from the CBD.

Designed by Arkhefield, the 100 retirement apartments will sit within a 10-storey building featuring independent living and assisted living apartments and also be adjacent to the Brookside Shopping Centre and a planned aged care facility by Japara.

Traders in Purple CEO Brett Robinson told the Courier-Mail that the purpose-built development is a first in Brisbane.

“It has been our vision for some time that we wanted to better assist those that are most vulnerable in our community,” he said.
