There’s clearly no bad blood between Aura and the Lord Mayor over the Council’s recent backflip with Cr Quirk to do the honours at the grand opening next month in Corinda, 12km south of the Brisbane CBD.

As we covered here, ex-RetireAustralia founder Tim Russell confirmed they are waiting to hear if their co-located village at Coorparoo Bowls Club will be affected.

The Corinda site was the first acquired when Tim Russell and Mark Taylor founded Aura Holdings in 2016. They purchased the land from Not-For-Profit PresCare, which had already built a first stage of 34 apartments.

This second stage – named ‘Duporth’ – will feature 53 one-, two- and three-bedroom Independent Living Units – priced from $395,000 – and a range of facilities including a heated pool, gym, allied health services, billiards room and dining and function rooms.

Once complete, the $130 million village will be home to 262 apartments plus a three-storey, 100-bed aged care facility operated by PresCare and backed by Justin Laboo’s new Catalyst Health REIT.

We have to wonder though – what do the Presbyterians think of Kingsford’s new wine room installed by Aura?
