Canada faces the same labour shortage as Australia in the delivery of care services (which is only going to be heightened with the rollout of the National Disability Insurance Scheme building to $10B labour and other support expenditure).
Their solution in part is easy residency for Live-in caregivers. They are individuals who are qualified to provide care for children, elderly persons or persons with disabilities in private homes without supervision. Live-in caregivers must live in the private home where they work in Canada.
They can automatically apply for permanent residency after 24 months of authorised full-time employment (being 3,900 hours), all within four years of arriving in Canada.
