Maranoa Council has gifted 20 bed licenses from its Mitchells Maranoa Retirement Village to Pinaroo Aged Care in Roma, 83 km away. Pinaroo itself only has 26 beds but has a 35 person waiting list
Queanbeyan City Council Mayor Tim Overall [pictured] says it will cut aged care, disability and respite services because of soaring costs which have risen to $1.8 million a year. 1,400 care services clients will be affected plus 15 full-time staff, 17 casual workers and 27 volunteers.
