The former Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Health Services at not-for-profit Mercy Health, Dr Mellors (pictured) will join the provider in August to succeed Ross Johnston, who steps down on 4 September 2019.
Dr Mellors will have big shoes to fill. Mr Johnston had spent 11 years growing Regis to one of the country’s largest aged care providers with 7,000-plus beds, and also played a key role in the creation of the Aged Care Guild.
But Dr Mellors, who holds a PhD from Monash University, has plenty of experience.
She has held a range of executive roles in the Victorian public health sector over 15 years and also serves as a Board Director of MacKillop Family Services and co‐chairs the Chief Executive forum between major Victorian health services and hospitals and the Department of Health and Human Services.
