Crighton Properties planned $72 million retirement village at Mudgee has hit a road block due to concerns over drainage. The Mid Western Council has deferred approval for the proposed 205 dwelling retirement village. The council has asked Crighton for an alternative drainage plan before the development is considered at a full council meeting. The proposed Spring Flat Road village will have a swimming pool, gymnasium and croquet lawns for use by not only village residents but the general public as well.

Ageing Australia has welcomed the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (ACQSC)’s review of proposed Liquidity Standards due to come in with the aged care reforms in November, saying the original proposal could have threatened investment in the ageing sector.
