Health officials investigating deaths of two Port Macquarie aged care residents who died after receiving COVID-19 vaccine

An investigation has been launched by the Therapeutic Goods Administration after two residents at a Port Macquarie aged care home developed pneumonia and died within days of getting the COVID-19 vaccine.

The two elderly men were residents of Mingaletta Aged Care where they received their Pfizer vaccinations on March 10 before falling ill and dying.

One resident, a 93-year-old man, developed pneumonia the following day and died while the second resident, a man in his 80s, developed pneumonia and died three days later on March 13.

As a result an investigation into their deaths is underway, The Daily Telegraph reported.

“The TGA is reviewing all reports together with the relevant state and territory health departments,” a TGA statement read.

“This process includes considering the individual‘s health status and medical history at the time of vaccination.”
