Hesta invests $200M in aged care equity

Health Employees Superannuation Trust (HESTA) has made a $200 million equity commitment to healthcare and aged care real estate.

The industry super fund manages $51 billion in super funds and joins several other funders making the move into residential care in recent years including Heathley which has around $600 million in assets.

“We are actively looking for investment opportunities as Australia’s ageing population will see the need for a significant expansion in services and facilities in the coming years,” HESTA chief executive Debby Blakey said.

As we reported here earlier this year, HESTA announced a $19 million investment in Australia’s first dementia ‘village’.
