Home and community care consumer experience reports online later this year

The Australian Aged Care Quality Agency (AACQA) will expand its Consumer Experience Reports after launching them for aged care in June 2017.

The AACQA is currently developing a set of questions to capture residents’ experiences from a review undertaken by the Australian Institute for Primary Care and Ageing (AIPCA) at La Trobe University which found eight themes important to consumers deciding on care.

These were:

  • control;
  • local residence;
  • interpersonal interaction;
  • flexibility;
  • affordability;
  • administrative and financial literacy;
  • safety; and
  • timeliness of service provision.
