Energy prices is building into a major village and care cost IPART has calculated the proposed emissions trading scheme cost on electricity prices and predicts a 60% increase within three years. The Australian energy regulator has already agreed to double-digit rate growths. EnergyAustralia (NSW) states its charges will rise by 10% in 2010-11, 16% in 2011-12 and 25% in 2012-13. They state a typical customer will pay $727 more in 2013, taking the total power bills to $1985 a year. (See separate story on solar December 30 tax reduction).
Ageing Australia welcomes Quality Commission’s report on liquidity ratios
Ageing Australia has welcomed the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (ACQSC)’s review of proposed Liquidity Standards due to come in with the aged care reforms in November, saying the original proposal could have threatened investment in the ageing sector.
