McKenzie Aged Care Group appoints Simon Keating its new CEO

Private operator McKenzie Aged Care Group, which owns and operates 17 homes in VIC, NSW and QLD, has appointed Simon Keating as its new CEO.

Simon, an adjunct associate professor, is currently the Managing Director and a board director of technology providers iMedX. He was previously the Chief Strategy & Business Development Officer at Northern Health, Melbourne, from 2018 to early this year, and the CEO of Northern Eastern Cluster, Healthscope, for five years.

He succeeds Andrew Newton, who recently retired, and will assume his new role on 1 June.

In a statement, he said McKenzie Aged Care Group’s “strong reputation in the industry attracted me to seek out this opportunity and I look forward to assisting in enhancing this reputation along with the growth of the business.”

“I have worked in healthcare for over 25 years and I am continually proud of the work that we do as an industry in providing what is needed to ensure optimal outcomes for residents,” he said.
