- Assoc. Prof. Rosanna Capolingua - GP and ex Federal president of the AMA
- Dr Stephen Judd - CEO of HammondCare
- Paul Sadler – CEO of Presbyterian Aged Care NSW & ACT
- Ian Yates – CEO of COTA
- Rae Lamb – (ex officio) Aged Care Commissioner

Fifield said: “as we move to a more consumer driven system of aged care, it’s important that the government’s quality framework reflects the expectations of all restrains when it comes to quality of care they receive”.

The advisory Council will provide advice on how to broaden the quality agenda to incorporate consumer expectations and aged care services.

Sydney’s first Muslim aged care facility announced. Impressive presentation
The not for profit Gallipoli Health Services is building the $20 million Rahma Aged Care facility in the Sydney western suburb of Auburn, adjacent to the Gallipoli Mosque with completion due January 2017. They have approval for 95 beds against a forecast demand of 360 beds.

The Mosque attracts worshipers from over 20 different nationalities. The top 10 are: Turkish, Lebanese, Indian, Egyptian, Iranian, Syrian, Afghani, Iraqi, Pakistani and Bangladeshi.
The two striking aspects of this project are the architecture and the marketing to the Muslim community.

Eugene Marchese of Marchese Partners (and speaker at next week’s LEADERS SUMMIT) has created a remarkable project blending the Mosque and the care facility. The concept has become so dominant it is centre of the fundraising marketing.

The Gallipoli Mosque has done a remarkable job in creating a genuine respect for the elderly and justification for donations.

Examples of the specific religious requirements of the design include beds facing the Qibla, toilets facing away from the Qibla, prayer rooms, residential clusters to allow for segregation and Islamic themed décor.

(Qibla is the shortest distance/line to the Kaaba, ancient stone structure that was built and re-built by prophets as a house of monotheistic worship. It is located inside the Grand Mosque in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The Kaaba is considered the center of the Muslim world, and is a unifying focal point for Islamic worship).

The Federal government is providing $10M towards construction of the balance being raised from donations from the Muslim community.
