QLD: Churches of Christ opens state’s first open community campus with seniors living in Caloundra

The Not For Profit’s $32 million new campus in Little Mountain is the first in Queensland to locate aged care, community care and community facilities open to both residents and the local community on one site.

Designed under the cottage model of care, the aged care facility offers six cottages each with 16 bedrooms, while an aquatic centre, community centre and café will be open to the public.

CEO Gary Edwards says the facilities are designed to support people and their families to remain close.

“Families can spend time together in the café, enjoy watching grandchildren in the playground or participate in a swim program in the aquatic centre, or become involved in one of the activities that will take place in the auditorium,” he said.
