QLD council buries cemetery idea

The ageing population of Magnetic Island in QLD won’t be getting a new cemetery.

A quarter of the island’s residents are over 65 and want to stay on the island once they’ve passed away, but their only alternative is to deposit their ashes in a wall on state-owned land run by the Lions Club.

Lion’s President, Ian Ive says, “I’ll be in there before they fill it all up.”
