Rudd offers $12,000 to ex-nurses to return to work

The Rudd Government wants to attract 8,000 ex-nurses back to work. The offer is $6,000 cash to nurses who return after being out of the health system for more than one year. If they stay six months they receive an extra $3,000 and after 18 months received another $3,000. There are 30,000 ex-nurses capable of rejoining the system. But if money is the inducement, will they come back to aged care where hourly rates are 25% less than the hospital sector?
