The state has again updated its advice to aged care providers as the COVID situation continues to ease.

Coming into effect from 12.01am yesterday, the Emergency Management (Residential Aged Care Facilities No 17) (COVID-19) Direction 2020 lifts restrictions on the number of visits a person is allowed each day.

Critically, personal carers are again able to work at more than one facility. However, it is still strongly advised health employees only work at one facility where possible.

Where employees, contractors and volunteers are working at an additional place of employment, they also required to notify the aged care operator.

Working across multiple facilities was banned in South Australia in the wake of the pandemic, but unions have fought strongly against the move, saying that it restricts incomes for part-time workers who rely on multiple jobs.

As we have previously reported, face masks are also still mandatory at all aged care facilities until 23 December, 2020.
