Southern Cross Care SA starts construction on $70 million Mount Barker retirement village

The 180-unit village continues a 10-year development program for the site, which is co-located with its Oakfield Lodge Residential Care Centre, completed in 2016.

The first stage of 22 villages will be built by SA firm Buildtec Group which recently finished the final stage of Southern Cross’ Riverpoint Retirement Estate in Noarlunga Downs.

SCC is clearly banking on Mount Barker to be a growth corridor for SA’s retirees – there are already four retirement villages in the local area.
