Stage 2 of Soldier’s Point Bowling Club’s self-managed Over 55s complex approved

A $23 million development of a second and much larger building for Over 55 retirees has been approved after modifications for Soldiers Point Bowling Club in Port Stephens, 209km north of Sydney’s CBD.

Stage 1 of 26 units at Greenside, as it is called, has sold out, with expressions of interest, and some deposits taken, for a third of Stage 2, which is a seven-story 62-unit building.

Soldiers Point Bowling Club CEO Simon Lack told The Weekly Source that the club manages the units, which are behind the club.

“Everyone comes down from the back to enjoy the club,” he said.

The NSW Joint Regional Planning Panel approved the development application after amendments on 16 July. It was originally approved for 100 units.

Mr Lack said it is hoped construction will begin towards the end of the year, with completion likely by mid-2023.

Also in Port Stephens, the final homes are for sale in Latitude One, Ingenia Lifestyle’s Over 55s resort in Anna Bay. All homes in the first three stage releases of Latitude One have sold out.
