A departing 79-year-old resident from Melbournes Grand Villa Mentone, Shirley Hudson, has been hit with a $6,650 invoice to make good her supported living unit. It is alleged she left behind a filthy room complete with broken furniture, carpets stained with beetroot juice, broken furniture and then overgrown garden.
The resident had also made up to 8 complaints to the Department of Health and Human Services in the past 13 months, resulting in three inspections but no fines.
Payment has not been resolved.
