SwanCare retirement village nominated for 2020 National Architecture Award

The West Australian village operator was nominated for the Leisure Precinct developed in its Bentley Park Retirement Community, 8km southeast of the Perth CBD.

The $20 million project – which services around 1,000 residents – was designed by Iredale Pederson Hook Architects and is nominated for the Urban Design Award.

“SwanCare Leisure Precinct displays a level of thoughtfulness and innovation rarely achieved within the aged care typology,” says the Australian Institute of Architects.

The precinct picked up the gong in the same category at the 2020 WA Architecture Awards in July, while receiving commendations in the Public Architecture and Lighting categories.

Winners will be announced in a live broadcast on Thursday, 5 November.
