The private operator has received planning approval to begin construction on the first stage of its $30M development at Williams Landing, 19km southwest of the Melbourne CBD.
Work is now expected to start early this year on the 120-bed nursing home at the $2.5B master-planned community. TriCare is also seeking approval to add another 143 beds in a second stage.
TriCare had bought the land for the site from ASX-listed developer Cedar Woods, who will build the facility.
TriCare currently has nine retirement villages and 15 residential aged care facilities across QLD and NSW.
