With 18 villages in its portfolio, and an extensive refurbishment and redevelopment
program currently in place, Amana Living (formerly Anglican Homes) has been actively
modernising and extending its accommodation in Western Australia following Ray Glickman’s
appointment to the top job in August 2004.
Ray was previously CEO of the City of Fremantle, where he steered the City to winning the
Alcoa Leadership Award in 2002 as WA’s Leading Best Practice Council.
This local government background provided him with the negotiating skills needed for the
major strategic plan to refresh the organisation’s image, which was regarded as essential
to stand out in Western Australia’s competitive marketplace. He had to bring together the
Christian values and unique character of the Anglican organisation, dating back to 1962, with
the positive aspirations of the baby boomer generation. Amana Living was launched in 2006.
Ray has Masters Degrees in the varied disciplines of Business, Applied Social Studies and
Psychology and Philosophy. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and a
Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is also the Chairman of the
Board of Therapy Focus Inc, a Director of Aged and Community Services WA and the Chair
of the WA Maritime Museum Advisory Committee.
