Village operators can now be home care providers. Register now but lawyers advise caution

Law firm Russell Kennedy Lawyers is taking advantage of the February 2017 changes to the Aged Care Act, offering advice to village operators interested in providing home care services.

Senior Associate Anita Courtney (pictured) and Principal Donna Rayner are reminding providers there is now a more streamlined process to apply through the Department of Health.

They also note it can take up to 90 days for an application to be approved – giving operators a clear deadline.
With home care funding worth over $3B a year, the Department of Health has already received 170 new home care applications in the last year.
