Warrnambool retirement village approved after dropping private golf course

1 min read

Plans for Country Club Living’s $100 million Warrnambool retirement village proposal have been approved, after an initial proposal was knocked back in October.

The initial proposal included a private golf course on public land; it was rejected in 11 minutes, as councilors were uncomfortable with the golf course element.

However, Country Club Living developer Cameron Gull (pictured) said at the time he would return with amendments. The amended proposal, which did not include a golf course, was approved unanimously in the Council’s last meeting of the year.

The proposed development contains 52 retirement homes, ranging from 698sqm to 957sqm. A creek reserve, which extends for 36 metres, will be revegetated and will include a public pathway.
