Western Sydney land rezoned for Nexus Business Park – with big retirement living and aged care precinct

The land on Narellan Road at Campbelltown, 57km from the Sydney CBD, will be turned into a huge residential, aged care, retirement living and healthcare precinct after the Maryfields precinct, the current home of the Franciscans and Poor Clare nuns, was rezoned last month.

The Park will feature a 6.7 hectare seniors’ living precinct with a maximum of 500 retirement living units and a 100-bed aged care facility up to four storeys; around 590 residential homes over 16.2 hectares; and a 5.2 hectare business precinct largely focusing on medical and health research across buildings typically four storeys.

The Franciscans will also retain a portion of the land, which is closely located to Campbelltown’s public and private hospitals and will create an “industry cluster” according to Maryfields Estate development director Wayne Camenzuli.

Mr Camenzuli says the development could generate more projects, potentially creating a precinct similar to the Norwest Business Park.

With southwest Sydney undergoing massive population growth, anything’s possible.
