12 residents at the 14-unit Norman Court Retirement Village in Richmond are angry they have been given 90 days’ notice to vacate to make way for an extension of its co-located aged care facility.
They say they expected to have at least six months’ notice. But Richmond Club, which operates the village, says they have had plenty of warning with the plans in place for 12 years.
The Club wants to build another 43 high-care beds including eight palliative care beds. If they don’t start soon, they will lose the licence.
CEO Kimberley Talbot has told the Hawkesbury Gazette they are already three years past the deadline for delivering the beds.
They have also offered to pay moving costs for four residents who are willing to move.
