Wild winds in NSW’s Hunter Region causes bus shelter to damage land lease community

Bayway Village in Fern Bay, 10km north of Newcastle, was among a number of sites hit by a wild storm which left a trail of destruction through the region last week.

Wild winds at the land lease community caused one of the community’s bus shelter to be upturned, causing some minor damage to an adjoining home.

The same storm had caused significant damage at Wescott Presbyterian Aged Care, where the roof of the facility’s dining room was partially blown off.

As we reported here, residents had to be transferred to HammondCare’s nearby Waratah home.
