Checking the Health Care Complaints Commission Annual Report its worth noting that aged care facilities are not the only group that receives complaints. The chart above reveals the number of complaints received by different types of health organisations over the last five years (to 2012 excluding public hospitals). Aged care facilities received the lowest numbers, which is a remarkably positive statement given the physical and emotional complexity of caring for the aged, compared to other health services. We make no comment on correction and detention facilities however.
