Prestige Inhome Care acquires third provider in two months
The deal follows Prestige’s acquisition of Vision Australia’s Home Care Package clients on 1 October and its acquisition of Mayflower’s community-based care on 1 November.
Prestige Inhome Care's new acquisition - its third in just eight weeks - underscores the rapid consolidation now sweeping the home care sector as Support at Home rolls out.
The independent provider has confirmed the purchase of Omni-Care, one of Melbourne’s largest home care organisations. The acquisition significantly expands Prestige’s presence across Melbourne’s north, combining more than 200 support office staff and over 1,200 carers across the two teams. Omni-Care will retain its brand, locations and workforce under General Manager Wendy Barnett.
The deal follows Prestige’s acquisition of Vision Australia’s Home Care Package clients on 1 October and its acquisition of Mayflower’s community-based care on 1 November. Together, Prestige now supports more than 3,000 clients along the East Coast.
New CEO Mark O’Brien (pictured top) said the organisation is bringing together providers at a critical moment for the sector.
“Reform is driving higher expectations around quality, safety, compliance and transparency, and we welcome that,” he said. “It is good for clients, good for families and good for the future of in-home care.”
Founded in 2005 by Registered Nurse Nick McDonald (pictured below with sister and COO Thea McCroary), Prestige has grown from a family-run service into a national operator known for its 24-hour private care offering. The organisation now spans Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland, with further growth planned.

Its expansion has been backed by growth capital from Sydney-based investment manager Yorkway Private, which took a shareholding alongside the founders – who hold the majority stake – in 2024.
“We have set ambitious growth targets as part of our strategic plan with our clients at the centre of our expanding scale,” added Mark.
