QLD Govt issue enforcement notice on land lease community
A land lease community has been issued an enforcement order by the State Government after an inspection uncovered “ponding” sewage near homes.
A notice published by the Queensland Government alleges the company Lilyponds HP Pty Ltd was breaching environmental laws in their lifestyle village at Mapleton in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.
Lilyponds Home Park currently consists of 17 cabins, with plans to expand detailed on the business’s website.

According to the environmental enforcement order, officers from the Department of Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation found pooling sewage in a resident’s backyard.
“On 12 November 2025, authorised officers undertook an inspection of the premises and observed liquid seeping from the western perimeter of the irrigation area and ponding in a resident’s backyard,” the order stated.
“The seeping liquid was coming from an upgradient source of the resident’s water tank and/or dwelling pipe connections indicating the seepage was a result of the irrigation area trenches.”
The order reveals that the company responded to a pre-enforcement letter from the Department, saying the pooling in the backyard of cabin 10 was a “one-off incident”, claiming follow-up actions and cleaning were completed.
However, limited drainage controls on the property and a poor electrical set up for the property’s irrigation system were noted by the Department and deemed to present an unacceptable health risk.
The Department ultimately ordered that the property conduct a third-party review into the design of the sewage treatment system.
Lilyponds has been contacted for comment.
