Regis Aged Care plans five-storey facility for this Adelaide site
Under the proposal, the 156 units would be split between 20 larger “grand suites” (44-52sqm) and 136 “deluxe units” (24-30sqm).
ASX-listed aged care operator Regis Aged Care has lodged a development application with South Australia’s Planning Commission for a five-storey residential aged care facility.
The proposal is for the former Cappo Seafood site in Parkside, an inner southern suburb of Adelaide and would see 156 accommodation units (supported accommodation) on the almost 5,000sqm site.
Regis purchased the land for $9.6 million from receivers after the property was seized from bankrupt businessman Aaron Hickmann.
Plans indicate a premium, amenity-led build, including a café and hair salon on the ground floor, a cinema on level one, fitness and activity rooms on level two, and multiple outdoor terraces across levels three and four.
Under the proposal, the 156 units would be split between 20 larger “grand suites” (44-52sqm) and 136 “deluxe units” (24-30sqm).
The development would also include a dedicated 14-room memory support unit, comprising deluxe units alongside shared living and dining areas, a sensory room, and access to small courtyards.
Regis operates residential aged care homes in South Australia at Burnside, Kingswood, Marleston and Playford, alongside its national footprint across home care, short-term care and retirement living.
