The extension was officially opened on 22 December by Mayor of Alexandrina Council, Keith Parkes, together with Resthaven CEO Darren Birbeck, Executive Manager Community Services & Retirement Living Mel Ottaway, and Board President, Mark Porter.
Residents of Chiton Retirement Living attended the event as well as Managing Director of Brown Falconer Architects Mario Dreosti, Kennett Builders Construction Manager Gavin Fillmore, Resthaven Board Member Geri Malone, Resthaven CFO Rob Quinton, as well as Resthaven Senior Managers Sarah Brown, Vanessa Clarke and Emmet O’Donnovan, the Retirement Living team, and prospective new residents.

Selling off the plan, the two-bedroom + study units are available for sale, with three already sold. Each home features a main bathroom plus an ensuite or second toilet and powder room, as well as a 5.28kva solar system to help offset electricity costs, a solar hot water system and rainwater tanks.

When the formalities finished, the residents and staff from Resthaven later took the opportunity to enjoy a Christmas lunch together, as well as celebrating the 90th anniversary of Resthaven.
