Royal Commission renews call for submissions on Counsel Assisting recommendations – including Commissioner Briggs’ remarks

A reminder that you can have your say on the final submissions made at last week’s hearing.

The Royal Commission has released another alert to invite responses to submissions made by the Counsel Assisting at the final hearing.

Responses of up to 300 words are being sought on each of the 124 recommendations proposed by the Counsel Assisting.

The Commission is also asking for comments on the eight additional matters addressed in the Counsel Assisting’s final submissions, namely:

  • My Aged Care and an improved provider search function
  • Care at home
  • Allied health care
  • Workforce: short term arrangements to increase wages
  • Direct employment of care workers
  • Informal carers: leave entitlement
  • Financing
  • Capital financing

You can also respond to the seven topics raised by Commissioner Lynelle Briggs AO (pictured above) during the hearing, specifically:

  • Aged care policy principles
  • System design and governance
  • Program management
  • Restraints
  • Provider leadership and culture
  • Research and data governance
  • Capital financing

You will need to get in fast though – responses must be made to the Solicitors Assisting the Royal Commission by email to ACRCfinalsubmissions@royalcommission.gov.au until 4:00pm (AEDT) on 12 November 2020.
