Ending seven months of heavy local protest against the sale, Monash Council agreed to sell Monash Gardens and Elizabeth Gardens to Royal Freemasons for $21.8M in cash. A petition of 10,000 names plus social media campaigns and the in 1867, operates five high care facilities in Melbourne plus 10 retirement villages. They will recruit from the 180 existing council care staff.

No excuse for providers to not be ready on 1 November: Aged Care Minister Sam Rae
Aged Care Minister Sam Rae has told ABC radio the Aged Care Rules have been in place for “a significant amount of time” and the Government has been listening to and supporting to the sector, “so, there really isn’t an excuse from any provider to not be prepared for 1 November”.
