RSL LifeCare CEO Janet Muir resigns
The Board of RSL LifeCare today said in a five sentence statement Janet would leave from tomorrow (16 January 2026).
After almost three-and-a-half years at the helm of the Not For Profit NSW and ACT retirement living, residential care, home care, and veteran services organisation, Janet Muir has today quit the role.
"After deep reflection over the Christmas period, I’ve made the decision to step down as CEO of RSL LifeCare," she said.
The Board of RSL LifeCare said in a five sentence statement Janet will leave tomorrow (16 January 2026).
"To ensure continuity of leadership and operations, the Board has appointed RSL LifeCare Chief Financial Officer Drew Pearce as Interim Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Pearce has been with RSL LifeCare since 2019 and brings significant industry experience and deep organisational knowledge," the Board stated.
"The Board confirms that there is no impact on services provided to residents, clients, veterans or team members."

Janet was appointed CEO in September 2022. Her most recent role prior to that had been Managing Director of hearing health care provider, Audika.
"I’m immensely proud of what has been achieved, including a financial turnaround, the setting of a clear and disciplined strategy, stronger clinical governance, and a marked lift in engagement and communication with team members, residents, clients, and the broader community," she said.
"This period also required us to manage and respond to profound systemic change. We led the organisation through the implications of the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety and the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide, while navigating the impacts of the pandemic and significant market shifts in expectations across retirement living and residential aged care.
"These moments tested us. They also sharpened our focus, strengthened our resolve, and reinforced the importance of purpose-led leadership grounded in accountability and care."

Janet added she was taking a short break "to reflect, reset, and create space for what comes next.
"Looking ahead, my interests remain firmly in leading and supporting purpose-driven organisations," she said.
RSL LifeCare owns and operates 27 retirement villages, 29 residential care homes and operates home care services from 18 offices.
