Sanctuary Cove opening up to retirement villages

Australia’s first Premier gated estate, Sanctuary Cove on the Gold Coast, wants access to retirement villages.

A very 80s QLD development, comprising nearly 5 square kilometres, was created with its own piece of legislation, the Sanctuary Cove Resort Act, which precluded either a ‘retirement facility’ or ‘residential aged care facility’ being built.

Now the 3000 residents recognise their need.

Interestingly Aveo’s major investor Mulpha is the owner of Sanctuary Cove Resort, purchased in 2002.
