More than 114,000 GP patients have registered for the General Practice in Aged Care Incentive (GPIACI) in its first year, well ahead of Government forecasts of 89,000 patients - and despite a Government report highlighting flaws in the system.

RFBI has converted a building on its Coffs Harbour site into apartments for staff, offering rent at 50% of the market rate and when residents retire, they will be able to stay on in the accommodation. CEO Frank Price said they now have plans for similar accommodation at 21 other locations.

Australia’s largest home care provider, Australian Unity, has acquired mobile allied health services provider Plena Healthcare, which operates nationwide, from Zenitas Healthcare for $70 million. The merged businesses will have more than 160,000 customers annually, compared with Australian Unity’s 50,000 in 2023-24 and employ over 6,700 people.
