Simon Owen appointed Managing Director of Eureka Group Holdings

1 min read

Simon, who led two small village operators to being listed on the ASX and took Ingenia Communities from an unloved basket case to a thriving $1.65 billion sector leader, joined the only pure-play, over-50s rental village accommodation provider as CEO on 2 September 2024.

Eureka Group Holdings Chair Russell Banham announced to the ASX today Simon will hold the dual roles of CEO and Managing Director from 1 July 2025.

“We are delighted to appoint Simon to the role of Managing Director. The Board has been consistently impressed with Simon’s exceptional capability and demonstrated leadership. Simon has a strong understanding of our values and strategy and a proven ability to lead our team and deliver growth. Importantly, Simon is highly regarded by our people, customers and stakeholders, and has a deep understanding of the seniors and all-age rental markets in which Eureka operates,” Russell said.

Since Simon joined Eureka, the group has bought four future all-age rental communities with the acquisition of the Barrier Reef Tourist Park in Cairns announced earlier this month.

"Whilst many people often think about Australia’s housing affordability crisis as a Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne issue, frequently the acute shortages of affordable, secure rental accommodation are even more extreme in the regions and towns right across Australia," he said when announcing the purchase of Barrier Reef Tourist Park.

Simon held a similar dual CEO and Managing Director role with Ingenia Communities.
