Australia’s largest Not For Profit aged care provider has announced Tony Crawford (pictured) will take the reins as Chair of its board after the retirement of long-time Chair Pat McIntosh AM CSC.

An experienced board chair and non-executive director with over 30 years’ experience at national law firm DLA Phillips Fox including as its Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board, Tony is currently the Chair of Queensland Country Health Fund, Heart Research Australia, the Energy and Water Ombudsman NSW and New South Wales Rugby Union.

The appointment is part of a planned succession with Pat reaching the tenure set by the Group’s Constitution after 12 years in the Chair role that included guiding the merger of RDNS and RSL Care into Bolton Clarke in 2015  and the acquisitions of private aged care providers Allity and McKenzie Aged Care in 2021 and 2023 respectively.

“Tony Crawford will continue this important work leading the skills-based Board in developing new services that meet the needs of the ageing population as part of an integrated and transformative model for ageing well,” the organisation said in a statement.

Pat had previously stated that Bolton Clarke wanted to double in size by 2025.
