Regis Healthcare shares in play

Two weeks after Bain Capital launched a bid for Estia Health, the other listed aged care provider Regis Healthcare is also attracting stock market interest.

Regis Healthcare’s shares have risen about 40% over the last month.

Cooper Investors became a substantial shareholder last Wednesday, after acquiring a 5.4% stake in the aged care operator.

A 4.9% stake in Regis was sold last Thursday for $2 per share, the sale of a residual stake held by Washington H. Soul Pattinson, The Australian Financial Review has reported.

Washington H. Soul Pattinson launched a $1.85 per share takeover bid for Regis in November 2020. The bid was ultimately unsuccessful, but they held onto a small stake in the provider
