Summerset Group lodges new plan for 8.5ha co-located facility in Torquay

New Zealand operator Summerset Group has put a new plan for a retirement village with 231 units, including 60 Assisted Living Apartments, and an 80-unit residential age care centre on 8.5ha of land in the famous seaside town of Torquay, VIC.

The remaining land on the site, about 15.5ha, would have 318 standard residential lots, 17 higher density lots and a multi-unit lot.

This contrasts sharply to the original plan (pictured) lodged before Surf Coast Shire Council in 2017 that included lots for 404 standard density homes, 70 higher density homes and a multi-unit site.

Summerset Group has seven retirement villages being developed in VIC. It announced it had paid an estimated $35 million for a 9.96ha block in Drysdale, also in the Geelong/Surf Coast region, last November.
