1 min read

The Illawarra-based Not For Profit has announced the resignation of its CEO, Patrick Reid, who is departing to take up a new leadership role with another community services organisation, understood to be a competitor of IRT.

IRT Chair Peter Fitzgerald acknowledged Patrick’s contribution during a period that reshaped the aged care sector and the organisation itself.

“Patrick’s leadership has been outstanding,” he said. “From navigating the complexities of the Royal Commission and the implementation of the Aged Care Quality Standards, to guiding us through bushfires, floods and a global pandemic – his impact has been significant and lasting.”

Ross Gallagher, IRT’s Executive General Manager Home Care and Retirement Living, will step into the role of Interim CEO until a permanent appointment is made.

Writing on LinkedIn, Patrick said: “IRT is in great hands with Ross Gallagher GAICD taking the helm. It’s a truly special organisation – made so by the passion and commitment of its people. It’s been an honour to be their custodian, and I hand over the baton with pride and gratitude.”

IRT delivers retirement living, residential aged care and home care throughout NSW, the ACT and South East Queensland, employing more than 2,000 staff.
