Aged Care Industry IT Council (ACIITC) launches benchmarking survey for providers

1 min read

The survey – launched last Friday – will aim to create a baseline for aged care and community care providers to benchmark their technology and innovation capabilities.

The project will look at providers’ use of:

  • Business support and administrative systems;
  • Reporting and online access to government;
  • Surveillance and monitoring technologies;
  • Telehealth; and
  • Smart Care Technologies.

The Royal Commission into Aged Care has previously heard evidence that the technological capabilities of operators vary wildly – with many still relying on paper-based systems for part or all of their operations, or using widely different IT systems.

Doesn’t it make sense that all operators have a common IT structure so that information can be collected and assessed efficiently? (Imagine a world where we had disparate desktop operating systems rather than the basic Microsoft suite – we couldn’t function).

Watch this space post the Royal Commission.

If you would like to take part in the survey, please email secretariat@aciitc.com.au.
