NBN Co is warning that scammers are “increasingly taking the opportunity” to impersonate NBN Co employees, particularly in retirement villages, to steal residents’ personal information and financial details.
While there are times NBN Co contacts consumers – for example, if you are on their Medical Alarm or Fire and Lift registers – they never request payment or bank account details during these calls or door knock to sell broadband services.
A reminder for residents to be on their guard.
